Hello, Again -- it seems that no matter how many messages we send out, there is always at least one more thing to cover.
Speeding
There are
still vehicles that regularly go too fast in our neighborhood--including in the
alleys. If we are talking to you, please do something about it. If we are
talking about someone who lives with you, please be sure that they do something
about it. It does not take long to get to Campbell Road or Garland Avenue where
it is legal to go faster, so we would like "to ask" everyone to curtail their
speed on our streets.
As you probably know, we are not a passive neighborhood and there are many traffic control measures that can be taken if speeding continues to be an issue. We would rather not have to pursue additional actions, which include any or all of the following--
Please note that the speed limit in all alleys in the City is 10 mph (Code of Ordinance, Article III of Speed Regulations, Section 33.27). Low alley speed especially makes sense in the Hills where all of the wooden fences make it impossible to see kids playing on bikes or anyone backing out of driveways.
Please don't send me a bunch of emails asking the HOA to do this-or-that about speed control on your street. Any resident can work with the City for traffic control. The HOA Board has consistently voted to be supportive of resident activity on speed control, but is not taking neighborhood-wide ownership to seek additional traffic control measures.
Pond Level Drop
As
indicated in earlier correspondence, the Swim & Rec Board is working
diligently trying to locate and repair the major source of water leakage.
Without implying any sure solutions, efforts are being concentrated at the
retaining wall at the South end. The pond level is being allowed to drop to
allow for further study and possible repairs. The level drop will continue for
the next several weeks.
Events - We will continue to publicize upcoming
events until they pass.
