Rock Out
Thanks to several extremely hard-working volunteers, we had a highly
successful rock pick-up project today and got tons (literally) of work
done.
A shout-out goes to--
Special recognition go to Greg, Eo, and Rob for attacking and removing the big pile of rock near the new wall -- Greg also donated his truck, and he and Eo made a dump run to unload the full truck with Eo doing yeoman's work with his shovel.
We will have one more rock pick-up day soon when the rest of the grading, irrigation, and fill-in work is complete and just before the replacement grass is sown. We really could use a few more volunteers at that time, so when the next call goes out, please help if you can. (If anyone would like to pick up any of the remaining rocks on their own schedule, I have some very heavy duty bags you can use -- just let me know.)
A "Wow of Appreciation" goes out to Kathlyn
Auten (who is also my sweet and highly
tolerant wife)
We now have a new Hills web
site. It has been a long time coming, and Kathlyn has been working on it in the
spare time she does not have to make it informative and useful.
Of course, we will be adding to the site and posting
updates whenever time and news dictate.
Check
it out--

Lawns of the Month
The old saying goes that "April Showers Bring May Flowers." and it is
true enough in the Hills these days. Many lawns and landscapes are looking
stellar. The winners for May are:
Lawn of the Month
-- 515 Water Oak
Landscape Design of the Month --609 Yaupon
Most Improved
--705 Green Apple
Congratulations to all!
Note: There seem to be a few more yards this year that need some extra
attention right now. If yours is sticking out like a (brown) thumb, please do
what you can to give it some love, or if you need help for any reason, please
let me know so we can provide assistance. Thanks to everyone for pitching in to
make our neighborhood as nice as possible.
